Gold cylinder watch by Perrin frères
–
Swiss gold and enamel open faced quarter repeating musical cylinder watch, circa 1820. The watch has a key wound movement featuring a cylinder escapement and a pin barrel musical mechanism with a tinned comb. The gilt dial showcases Arabic numerals on white enamel chapter plaques, an outer blue enamel minute ring, and blued steel hands, and the center features a finely painted enamel scene of a maiden playing the lute. The case is 18 carat gold with a sunburst engine turned design, featuring a hinged back and a hinged gilt signed cuvette.

The movement is running, but the music is not functioning. The repeating is running intermittently and very slowly. The engine is turning to the case back, which is very slightly rubbed. Some lights are cuffed throughout. The case back does not snap shut. There is a dent in the band. The dial has some restoration to the blue enamel minute track. Otherwise, it is in fair condition.
