A rare Swiss gentleman’s quarter repeating pocket watch with musical movement, circa 1820. The watch comprises an 18-carat gold engine-turned case with a reeded band and a slide for silence. The enamel dial features Arabic hours and blued Breguet hands. The gilt bridge movement incorporates two hammers, two gongs, and two barrels and is accompanied by a musical movement with tuned vibrating blades and a pinned disc. The watch further boasts a cylinder escapement and a three-arm brass balance with a blued balance spring. It is a keywind and is designed to offer peak performance.
