A gentleman’s exquisite, very fine, important quarter repeating gold enamel pocket watch with musical movement for the Chinese market. The musical movement plays a melody by Mozart. Case: 18k gold, the bezels on the front and back cover decorated with light blue champlevé enamel with engraved, half-pearl set flowers alternating with large half-pearls, engraved half-pearl set bow and pusher, band with blue enamelled ribbon decoration. The back cover very finely painted with the depiction of a flower and fruit bouquet against an engine-turned and translucent green enamelled background, gilt dome, slide for silence. Dial: enamel, radial Roman hours, blued Breguet hands. Movm.: bridge movement, musical movement with pinned disc and tuned vibrating blades, frosted, gilt, blued screws, 2 hammers, 2 gongs, 2 going barrels, keywind, cylinder escapement, mirror-polished, bevelled lever for musical movement, three-arm ring balance.
