Gold quarter repeating automaton

A rare Swiss 18 carat gold and enamel, quarter repeating pocket watch with an automaton scene, circa 1810. An Empire, engine-turned case. Gilt brass springloaded cuvette fitted to the movement ring. Enamel dial with Arabic numerals, applied multicoloured gold Jacks strike bells during repeating on a royal blue enamel background and gold hands. A frosted gilt movement, full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusée and chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance with flat balance spring, pierced and engraved continental balance cock with polished steel endplate, silver regulation dial, repeating on gongs activated by depressing the pendant, automaton driven via repeating train. Cuvette and movement signed.
