Gold minute repeating lever pocket watch

A rare Swiss 18K yellow gold minute repeating keyless pocket watch, circa 1897. With split-second chronograph, 60-minute register and accompanied by a box. The case back engraved emblem, a slide for locking the chronograph at 11, and a button for split seconds between 10 and 11. Hinged gold cuvette engraved William A. Gaston from Robert Bacon, December 25, 1897. White enamel dial with radial Arabic numerals, outer minute and 1/5 second divisions, outermost red Arabic five-second numerals, subsidiary dials for the seconds and 60-minute register and blued steel spade hands. Three-quarter plate movement, 32 jewels, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, swan neck micrometre regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band. Dial, case and movement signed.
