A very fine and rare verge pocket watch with concealed erotic scene exquisitely executed in polychrome enamel art “Frivolous Evening at the Opera”, circa 1815. Case is gilt, stepped, polished, back with a hinged lid to show the hidden erotic scene taking place in a Biedermeier-style box at the opera. Dial is enamel, Breguet numerals, blued Breguet hands. Full plate movement, keywind, frosted, gilt, chain/fusee, blued screws, solid movement pillars, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance, blued balance spring, fine florally engraved and pierced balance bridge, regulator disc.
