A fine and unusual Swiss, silver Adam and Eve animated watch with date, circa 1815. An Empire case with master mark JM polished with ribbed band. Enamel dial, small eccentric with Breguet numerals, outer minute markers and Arabic quarter-hour numerals, inner date ring numbered from 1 – 31, the upper half decorated with a finely painted scene of a lion and a stork in a landscape.

Glazed aperture above the dial with the serpent revolving around a small painted scene featuring Adam and Eve beneath the apple tree in the Garden of Eden. Engraved fancy gold hands. Hinged gilt brass full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental balance cock with polished steel end-piece, index regulator.
