A gentleman’s exquisite large and heavy pocket watch with quarter repeater, musical movement and two automatons with hourly activation, circa 1810.
18 gold case, engine turned, engraved, the back lid with a central medallion depicting musical instruments, fluted band, gilt dome, case maker’s punch mark “DLG”.
Enamel chapter ring dial, Arabic “Empire numerals”, gold repousse automaton on a blued steel background with a lady playing the lute “á trois couleurs” sitting with Amor next to a fountain, blued Breguet hands. Full plate movement, musical movement, frosted, gilt, 2 barrels, keywind, 2 hammers, 2 gongs, chain fusee, cylinder escapement, three arm ring balance, engraved regulator scale.
