Gunmetal rare calendar watch

A rare pocket watch with concealed calendar, Calendrier Breveté, made by Jacot-Burmann in Biel (Bienne),  Switzerland, circa 1890. This watch has a numbered open faced case which was crafted from gunmetal. The white enamel dial features Roman hours, an outer minute track with Arabic five minute numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and gold hands. The concealed calendar on the back has an outer chapter ring for the indication of the days of the week, an aperture at 12 o’clock for the digital display of the months and length of the months, an inner track for the date and decorative hands. The movement is fitted with a lever escapement.
