A heavy very fine gold hunter case pocket watch Grande Sonnerie Carillon Minute Repeater with original box, made by Zenith SA in le Locle, Switzerland, circa 1910. The plain full hunter case is made from 18 Carat gold, bears a hallmark and is numbered. The white enamel dial has an outer ring with Arabic numerals for the hours, a subsidiary dial at six o’clock with Arabic numerals for the seconds and blued steel hands. The movement has a precision lever escapement with minute repeater, carillon and quarter hour self strike Grande Sonnerie and a special tandem winding mechanism.
Dial, movement and box are signed.

It is extremely rare to find highly complicated watches, as the one presented here, in such original condition with the accompanying original box. These Zenith Grande Sonnerie pocket watches with carillon strike are highly wanted and have already achieved collector’s prices of around CHF 45.000 at auctions.
