Gold plated metal musical automaton with alarm by Charles Reuge.
–
A Swiss gold plated open faced lever pocket watch with musical automaton and alarm, circa 2010. Called The Fountain. This watch features a mechanically jewelled lever movement. The dial features Roman numerals on a silvered chapter ring, accompanied by an eccentric time display and centre seconds. It also features a blue steel alarm handset set within a pastoral enamel scene. Above this, a multicoloured gilt automaton scene depicts a falconer watering his horse at a trough. At the same time, a lady operates a pump, simulating flowing water, and a huntsman raises and lowers his arm with a hawk.
–
The case is engine turned with a cartouche, a stepped bezel, a milled band, and a hinged back. The automaton and music mechanism can be activated through the alarm or by pressing a button via the gilt cuvette, which also includes a musical key windhole. The case and dial are signed, and the cuvette is numbered. Accessories include a winding key.
