Gold open faced keyless lever watch

A fine French 18 carat yellow gold extra flat open faced tuxedo pocket watch made by Cartier, circa 1925. It has a mechanical crown winding movement with a lever escapement, signed European Watch and Clock Co Inc and numbered. The dial, signed Cartier, features a guilloché gold background with painted Roman numerals on the outer hour ring, Arabic numerals on the inner 24 hour track, a minute track, and blued steel hands. The timepiece is housed in a smooth round three body 18 carat solid yellow gold open faced case. The reverse back cover is decorated with the initials HR finished in blue enamel and is numbered inside. It has a smooth caseband, a fluted winding crown, and a distinctive sturdy triangular suspension bow.

The pocket watch is accompanied by an 18 carat yellow gold watch chain featuring bar links alternating with fancy links and a spring ring clasp (12.60 gr). It is presented within its original fitted red leather case monogrammed H.R.
