A fine French 18 carat yellow gold square keyless dress pocket watch, made by Cartier in Paris, circa 1925. So called Montre Carrée. A polished, square case with rounded corners, the back secured by four screws, triangular bow. Matte silver dial with radial Roman numerals, inner minute track and blued steel Breguet hands. Rhodium plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 18 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with height adjustments, blued steel Breguet balance spring. Signature on the dial, case and movement.
