A Swiss gilt Art Nouveau hunting cased pocket watch with minute repeater made for the Chinese market by Tavannes Watch Co. for Schwob Frères & Co.
Gilded silver (0.900), enamel and pearl-set, hunting cased, keyless winding, round-shaped, Art Nouveau pocket watch, made for the Chinese market, with minute repeater on two steel gongs, activated by the rectangular slide located on the case band at 12 o’cloc. Red flinqué enamel (translucent enamel over guilloché engine-turning) cover and case back, with polychrome painting on enamel showing, on the cover, a gentleman who takes a keen interest in a lady, both ice skating, and, on the case back, the portrait of a lady.
