Gold hour striking and quarter repeating musical watch

A rare Swiss 18 carat gold, enamel and pearl set two train hour striking and quarter repeating musical cylinder watch, circa 1820. Gilt brass full plate movement, cylinder escapement, gold three-arm balance, flat balance spring, music by a pinned revolving disc with pinson both sides, playing on 24 tuned teeth arranged in a fan shape, music on demand by slide at 1 o’clock, the repeating work on the back plate, striking on two gongs by depressing the pendant.
The case back engraved with musical instruments surrounded by anengine turned frame, fluted band, hinged, spring-loaded gilt brass hinged cuvette.
Dial with white enamel cartouches and Breguet numerals, outer blue enamel minute ring with white divisions, the centre painted on enamel with an allegory of Music and Love depicting a seated Terpsichore with a cherub at her side. Blued steel Breguet hands.
