Niëllo silver open faced lever watch

A fine and rare Swiss niëllo silver open faced keyless pocket watch made by Louis Brandt & Frère SA in Bienne, circa 1895. Commemorating the Grand Tir de l’Exposition Nationale Suisse in Genève, 1896. A massive case, bezel, band and bow with oak, laurel and berry decoration, the arms and a scene of Geneva on the back and a hinged silver cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman hour numerals, an outer dot minute track with Arabic five minute markers, sunk subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and gold Breguet hands. A frosted gilt movement with 19 jewels, a straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, Breguet balance spring and an index regulator. Case signed.
