The Sistema Magini pocket watch was manufactured in the early 1940s and played a crucial role in the Italian Air Force’s success during World War II. This was particularly evident during the first Rome-Tokyo sighting flight in 1942, where it proved to be an invaluable asset. The model was named after the brave pilot Publio Magini, who was issued with the watch. In 2015, the watch from this mission was auctioned for 112,500 CHF at Philipps.
