A Swiss platinum keyless open faced lever pocket watch, circa 1940. Retailled by Black, Starr & Gorham. The watch has a nickel finished mechanical lever movement with 18 jewels. Silvered matte dial with applied platinum baton indexes, outer minute divisions, subsidiary dial for constant seconds, and feuille hands. Platinum brushed case with snap on case back. Case and movement signed by maker, dial signed by maker and retailer. Accompanied by a Black, Starr & Gorham presentation box.

The case is overall in very good condition. The case back shows wear, scuffing, and scratches consistent with age and use. The dial is in overall good condition and has been previously cleaned. The PPC signature is in attractive raised hard enamel, while the retailer’s signature is flat. There is light surface wear and some marks present. The area around the 12 o’clock baton exhibits some oxidation upon close inspection. The movement is running smoothly.
