A fine and rare Swiss, nielloed silver, quarter repeating keyless pocket watch, circa 1914. Commemorating the Tir Cantonal du Centenaire, Genève-Suisse, 1814 – 1914.
A massive case, bezel, band and bow with oak, laurel and berry damascened decoration, the back decorated with the arms of Geneva within an oak and laurel leaf border. Hinged silver cuvette. White enamel dial with black Breguet numerals, outer minute track, inner red 24-hour numerals, subsidiary seconds. Gold spade hands. A frosted gilt movement, 23 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a button in the band. Dial and movement signed.
