Gold open faced pocket watch by Breguet & Fils

A Swiss quarter repeating gentleman’s pocket watch “the knife grinders” with four automatons and two Jacquemarts, circa 1810.
The case is 18 carat gold, engine turned, with engine turned band, pusher for repetition via pendant and case maker punch mark “PB”. The dial has an enamel chapter ring with Arabic “Empire” numerals, gold Jacquemart “á trois couleurs”, upper part with a scene of two bell-ringing putti, sitting on a mural surrounded by polychrome enamelled flowers, a big enamelled vase between them; the lower part with the depiction of a smith and his apprentice sharpening a big knife in front of a blued steel background and blued Breguet hands. And the movement is a gilt full plate movement, keywind, with applied floral decorations, two hammers, two gongs, three-arm brass balance and fine florally engraved and pierced balance bridge.
