A Swiss gilt “Trusty” Art Nouveau hunting cased pocket watch with minute repeater made for the Chinese market by Barbezat-Baillot, circa 1900.
Gilded silver (0.900), enamel and pearl-set, hunting cased, keyless winding, round-shaped, Art Nouveau pocket watch, made for the Chinese market, with minute repeater on two steel gongs, activated by the rectangular push-piece located on the case band at 6 o’cloc. Red flinqué enamel (translucent enamel over guilloché engine-turning) cover and case back, with polychrome painting on enamel showing, on the cover, a gentleman who takes a keen interest in a lady, and, on the case back, the portrait of a lady.
