A fine, rare Swiss gentleman’s quarter repeating pocket watch with musical movement and virgule escapement, circa 1810.
18 carat gold polished case with reeded band, case maker’s punch mark “IE, third standard gold mark Geneva 1809-1814, pusher for repetition via pendant and slide for musical movement. Gold engine-turned dial with enamel chapter ring, Breguet numerals, engraved centre and blued Breguet hands. 3/4 plate movement, keywind, gilt, with 2 hammers, 2 gongs, pin set barrel for musical movement, 14 vibration blades, virgule escapement and ring balance.
