A large Swiss quarter repeating coach clock with quarter hour strike and alarm, circa 1790. Gilt delicately engraved full plate movement, large fine adjustment mechanism, silver balance clock with subtle golden lustre, chain/fusee for going train, two barrels for alarm and striking train, three hammers, one bell, verge escapement and three armed steel balance.
Tortoiseshell outer case, sound holes and large lateral hinge, silver inner case, the edge hand engraved with foliate decor and casemaker’s punch mark AHM. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals and decorative hands. Dial and movement signed.
