Unsigned silver pocket watch with automaton
–
A Swiss silver open faced quarter repeating bras-en-l’air watch with jacquemarts, circa 1790. This watch features a gilded full plate movement with verge escapement. It has a white enamel dial with an applied varicolour gold seated female figure. Her arms hold arrows, which indicate the time on a pair of sectors showing minutes and hours. Additionally, she shows the time while the Jacquemart putti strikes the quarters. The watch has a silver case with concave bezels. The arms are activated by depressing the pendant, and there is a strike/silent slide on the band.

The movement is functioning but runs intermittently and does not fully lift the hands, requiring restoration. The dial has multiple cracks, and the case is tarnished with scuffs throughout.
