An extremely rare enamel pocket watch for the Chinese market with original box, circa 1850.
Case is silver, gilt, split pearl set bezels and pendant, the back side opaque polychrome enamelled, depiction of an oriental lion hunt, reeded band. Enamel dial, radial Roman numerals, centre seconds, spoon shaped hands. Bridge movement, keywind, gilt, signed, blued screws, going barrel, duplex escapement, monometallic screw balance with screwed weights.
