A Swiss rare silver enamel pocket watch for the Chinese market, circa 1870.
Silver case with engraving and opaque light blue enamelling around the edge, back with polychrome enamel medallion on an engine-turned ground with translucent red enamelling: portrait of a young lady in a plumed hat, framed by a border of engraved and enamelled wildflowers and with enamelled pendant. Enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, centre seconds and blued spade hands. Bridge movement, keywind, gilt, florally engraved, with going barrel, Chinese duplex escapement and steel balance with 3 blued weights.
