The case of this watch and possibly the dial plate date from the first half of the 17th Century. The movement and dial were specially made by Lasacher for this case around 1730, probably at the request of the family whose arms appear on the balance cock. Alberten Lasacher (or Lasacker) Is recorded as working in Cologne in the 1730s.
–
The dial shows signs of tarnishing and the gilding on the central plate has dulled. There are some small losses to the wax infill of the numerals. Traces of gilding can be seen on the main silver body of the case, but there is wear to the gilding of the bezels. One rock crystal panel is slightly loose. The cover closes securely and the movement is running at the time of cataloguing.
