Large silver deck chronometer by August Ericsson

A Swiss deck chronometer with spring detent escapement, circa 1907.
This watch consists a smooth silver case with golden hinges. The dial is white enamel, signed, numbered, has radial Roman hours, auxiliary seconds and blued spade hands. It has a bridge movement, a frosted, gilt, a compensating balance with screws in gold and platinum, a blued balance spring with end curve and a sapphire endstone on balance and chronometer wheel.

August Ericsson was a well reputated Swedish watch maker and retailer having his business in St. Petersburg, starting 1865 died 1915. He used only top of the line movements like Ullusse Nardin, IWC Longines and even Victor Kullberg in his pocket watches and ship’s chronometers. Delivered watches to the Csar and his family and the Russian Navy.
