Full hunter cased watch with minute repeater

A heavy, ultra fine full hunter cased watch with grande sonnerie carillon and minute repeater made by Zenith in le Locle, Switzerland, circa 1896. The numbered plain case of this watch, crafted from 18 Carat gold, has a cuvette inscribed with Grand Prix de Paris 1900 and Médaille d’or Genève 1896. The white enamel dial has Arabic hour numerals, a subsidiary dial at six o’clock also with Arabic numerals and blued steel hands. The movement has a precision lever escapement, a minute repeater, a carillon and quarter hour self strike grande sonnerie and special tandem winding.
Dial and cuvette are signed.

It is extremely rare to find these highly complicated watches in such an original condition with triple Zenith signature. These Zenith grande sonnerie pocket watches with carillon strike are very wanted and have already achieved collector’s prices of around CHF 35.000.
