A rare American 14 carat gold open faced keyless pocket watch made by Elgin National Watch in Illinois, circa 1911. A polished cover, white enamel dial with suspended Arabic numerals, an outer minute track, subsidiary at 6 and blued spade hands. A nickel, ¾ plate movement, going barrel, gold screwed chatons, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensated balance with gold poising screws and blued steel hairspring with terminal curve, polished steel Moseley index-regulator with swan-neck spring and micrometric screw, adjusted. Signature on the dial and movement.
