Eigeldinger
No official corporate partnership or merger existed between LeCoultre & Cie and Eigeldinger.
Instead, their historical connection was a standard supplier client relationship typical of the early 20th-century Swiss watch industry:
– Movement Supply & Casing: Eigeldinger (including firms like Eigeldinger & Co. and
A. Eigeldinger Fils) frequently functioned as an établisseur—a company that sourced
movements from manufacturing watchmakers and paired them with custom cases.
– Collaborative Pieces: They collaborated on individual high-end pieces, such as
luxury Art Deco pendant watches produced around 1925. These pieces utilized
high grade movements manufactured by LeCoultre & Cie. housed inside fine
jewelry cases produced or retailed by Eigeldinger.
While LeCoultre & Cie. is most famously known for its major partnership and eventual merger with Edmond Jaeger to form Jaeger-LeCoultre, its relationship with Eigeldinger was strictly transaction-based for specific timepiece productions.
