Unsigned gold pocket watch with three horological complications
–
A fine, keyless-winding, Swiss pocket watch with split-seconds and open face, circa 1920-1930.
This watch has three horological complications: 1/5 second chronograph (activated by the round push-piece located on the winding-crown) and telemetric scale graduated for 1 000 metres; Split-seconds (activated by the rectangular push-piece located on the case band at 11 o’clock); and Instantaneous 60-minute recorder (subsidiary dial at 12 o’clock).
The case is made of 18-carat yellow gold. The dial is enamel with Arabic numerals, outer minutes/seconds track, subsidiary dial for the constant seconds, subsidiary dial for 60-minute recorder, and spade hands. And the movement is rhodium-plated with going barrel, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance with gold poising screws and blued steel hairspring with a terminal curve, index regulator with swanneck spring, and micrometric screw, adjusted to temperatures.

The movement of this quality watch was probably made in the Vallée de Joux, in a workshop of the level of those of Les Fils de Victorin Piguet or Les Fils de Louis-Elisée Piguet.
