A fine and rare Swiss 18K gold musical pocket watch with quarter repeating and centre seconds, circa 1820. The back cover engine-turned with a sunray pattern. Gilt metal cuvette engraved with a bar of music. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, outer minutes and seconds track with arrow quarter-hour markers. Blued steel arrow hands with pierced tips.
Frosted gilt movement, standing barrel, cylinder escapement, plain three-arm balance, blues steel flat balance spring, polished steel endplate, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by depressing the pendant, sur plateau musical movement with 11 blued steel tuned blades acting upon both surfaces of the disc, activated at will by a button in the band.
