Gold quarter repeating musical Swiss pocket watch

A very fine and rare, 18 carat gold, quarter repeating, musical pocket watch with music playing on the hour or at will. Attributed to Piguet et Meylan, Geneva and also signed J. H. Sautter à Genève. Made circa 1820.
Four-body, Empire style, master mark DM and polished case with a reeded band, bolt at 1 o’clock to lock the repeat and at 10 o’clock to activate the music. Hinged gilt brass cuvette with apertures for winding and hand-setting.
Gold dial with radial Roman numerals on a brushed chapter ring, outer minute divisions and engine-turned centre. Blued steel Breguet hands.
Gilt brass two-train movement with standing barrel for the going train, cylinder escapement, plain three-arm balance, flat balance spring, polished steel endplate, index regulator and repeating on gongs activated by depressing the pendant. Sur plateau musical movement, 23 tuned, blued steel vibrating blades acting on both sides of the pinned disc and music/silence lever at the edge of the cuvette beneath the back cover.
Dial plate punched numbered 169, case numbered 169, cuvette signed J. H. Sautter à Genève.
