Early very fine verge watch with tulip pillars
–
An early, very fine verge watch, made by Markham in London, England, circa 1755. The open faced plain case of this watch was crafted from silver and has London Hallmarks from 1789. The original champlevé dial has Arabic five minute and Roman hour numerals and the, presumably, original hands. The numbered movement with tulip pillars, glazed cock and diamond end stone has a verge escapement.
Dial and movement are signed.
