Paul Matthey-Doret was born in 1837. He founded the watch and clock manufactory La Maisonnette in Le Locle, which his wife Anna Matthey-Doret (1847-1907) continued to run after his death in 1898. The brand La Maisonnette was eventually bought by Byron L. Strassburger & Co in New York.
