A German 14 carat gold hunting cased chronograph pocket watch made by A. Lange & Söhne in Glashütte, circa 1916. Sold on February 18th, 1916, to Paul Prenzel in Frankenberg for 545 Marks. The ¾ plate movement with a lever escapement and screw compensation balance. White enamel dial with Arabic hours, an outer minute track, red Arabic five minute numerals, outermost fifth of a second divisions, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock, a 30 minute counter at 12 and fine hands. A plain case. Comes with an Extract from the Archives. Dial signed, case numbered, movement signed and numbered, case and movement with matching numbers.

Paul Prenzel was a watchmaker and jeweller from 1903 onward and had premises in Frankenberg in Saxonia. One of his descendants, Theodor Prenzel, works today as chief engineer at Nomos in Glashütte.
