A rare French fire-gilded open faced quarter repeating verge oignon pocket watch with alarm, circa 1700. Florally engraved full plate movement, a hammer, chain and fusee, four-armed steel ring balance. Chased and engraved fire gilt dial, white enamel cartouches with blue Roman hours, outer white enamel cartouches with blue Arabic minute numerals and blued steel hands. The pierced case with a rear bell.
