Gold and enamel center seconds watch by Bovet

A very fine Swiss 14 carat gold and enamel open faced center seconds lever pocket watch made for the Chinese market, circa 1830. Glazed, floral engraved bridge movement, key wind, a flying barrel, side lever escapement and monometallic screw balance with screwed on blued weights. White enamel dial with Roman hours, outer minute divisions, Arabic quarter hour numerals and blued hands. The case back with a delicate polychrome enamel floral composition of roses, tulips, violets and other spring flowers on a turquoise background, both bezels, the pendant and bow with flower and leaf tendrils made of translucent champlevé enamel in red, yellow and green on a light blue ground. Case numbered.
