The former property of aristocrats.
–
The former owner of this half hunter, Hans Braun, was a descendant of Wilhelm von Braun (1790-1872), who was ennobled by Duke August of Saxe-Gotha in the mid 19th century and whose family had close ties to the ducal family. The family crest shows three brown horse heads and the motto ‘Edel durch Art.’, which means something like ‘Noble through Performance’ and should refer to the horses and the newly ennobled Braun family.
