Deck chronometer in mahogany box

A fine Russian deck chronometer with 56 hour power reserve in a brass inlaid mahogany box, circa 1910. Brass movement with a decorative cut, profiled pillars, chain and fusee, a spring detent escapement, blued screws, bimetallic chronometer balance with two screws and two weights, free sprung, cylindrical balance spring and a chatoned diamond endstone on the balance. A brass gimbal case. Silvered dial with Roman hours, an outer minute track, 56 hour power reserve indication at 12 o’clock, subsidiary seconds at 6 and spade & whip hands. Dial signed and numbered, movement numbered, dial and movement with matching numbers.
