A very fine and elegant Swiss 18 carat gold, enamel and pearl set open faced pocket watch with chatelaine, circa 1780. The matte gilt bar caliber movement with a lever escapement, 19 jewels, a two arm balance, Breguet balance spring and an index regulator. White enamel dial with Arabic hours, outer dot minute divisions, Arabic quarter hour numerals and later gold Breguet hands. The case back with gold paillons in a geometric pattern on a royal blue translucent ground, both bezels set with split pearls within gold chatons. Accompanied by a detachable matching gold, enamel and pearl set chatelaine with key.
