A French 18 carat gold, enamel and pearl set open faced pocket watch, circa 1780. The gilt full plate movement with a verge escapement, pierced and engraved balance bridge, round baluster pillars, and chain and fusee. White enamel with Arabic hour numerals, an outer minute track and gold hands. The case back with later soft enamel decoration in blue, gold and green, the pendant and bow are decorated to match, both bezels set with seed pearls. Dial and movement signed John.
