A German 18 carat gold and enamel open faced pocket watch, circa 1760. The gilt full plate movement with a verge escapement, decoratively pierced and engraved balance bridge, ruby end stone, square baluster pillars, and chain and fusee. White enamel dial with Roman hours, diamond set half hour markers, an outer minute track, outermost Arabic five minute numerals and open work diamond set hands. The case back is polychrome enamelled with a scene of Bacchus and Ariadne within chased borders, showing scrollwork, flowers, foliage and birds. Movement signed, case stamped IC.
