A very fine 18 carat gold open faced anker chronometer made by Patek Philippe in Geneva, circa 1916. Retailed by F.W. Eisenhart in Bern and Interlaken. The Extra Quality bridge movement with a piston tooth lever escapement, large gold screw compensation balance and diamond endstone. White enamel dial with Arabic hour numerals, an outer minute track, sunk subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and blued spade hands. A smooth case. Dial signed by the watchmaker and retailer, case numbered, cuvette and movement numbered and signed by the watchmaker. Comes with an Extract from the Andreas Hiddings Chronometer database and its original presentation box.

The present piece participated in the pocket chronometer class of the 1937 Geneva Observatory Chronometer Competition, achieving a score of 742 points and taking first place out of four chronometers in “Competition B, large format pocket chronometers in the category exceeding 38 mm and up to 43 mm.”

F.W. Eisenhart was active in Bern and Interlaken. It was registered as F.W. Eisenhart-Hiltbrunner in Bern on January 19th, 1926 and in Interlaken on March 11th, 1948. The company registered the trademark “Exact Time”.
