A large and exceptional French silver pair-cased verge pocket watch, circa 1795. Probably from France made for the English market. Gilt verge movement with unusual decoration of silver and polished stainless steel. An extra glazed silver dome.
Both cases plain, the inner case with English import punch 1795. White enamel dial with Roman hours, outer minute divisions, red enamel floral decoration in the centre and a, presumably, original hand. Comes with a matching English silver watch chain with seven charms.
