An English 20 carat gold repoussé verge watch repeater with chatelaine, from nobleman’s possession, circa 1700, high relief, full of engraving, floral pierced, 5 part lateral hinge, inner case also excellent quality, movement decorated with birds and mythical creatures, 1 cartouche with town scene, bell, early English full plate fire gilt verge movement with, dome and main plate signed Windsor London, round pillars, typical movement decoration from 1700-1710, verge escapement, repeating hours and quarters, decorative enamel dial, probably original hands, corresponding chatelaine, also solid 20 carat gold. This watch was on the centrepieces of one of the biggest German collections of high-class watches. Verge watches with solid gold chatelaines of this quality are extremely rare. This pocket watch belonged to  Adam Heinrich von Steinau-Steinrück he was Saxon Field Marshall of the Venetian Army
