An English verge, the dial bearing the name of the first owner, in silver pair cases, circa 1786. Full plate fire gilt movement with round pillars, pierced and engraved cock, silver regulator disc, fusee and chain, plain three-arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. White enamel dial with the original owner’s name JAMES PEPPER, gilt hands. Silver pendant and bow, maker’s mark TC in a rectangle.
