An early French gilt single-handed Louis XIV oignon pocket watch, circa 1690. Very early French verge movement, verge bridge with Rococo figure scene, very high and steep fusee, verge escapement, early central winding from around 1690. Gilt dial with blue Roman hours in white enamel cartouches, iron hand. Case with extremely rare shell decoration. Movement signed. In working order.
