A fine English keyless free-sprung reverse fusee with power reserve indication in an 18-carat gold full hunter case, hallmarked London 1882. Gilt three-quarter plate keyless movement with fusee and chain. Harrison’s maintaining power. Plain pierced bridge cock with diamond endstone. Compensation balance with free-sprung blue steel overcoil hairspring. English table roller lever escapement, screwed in jewelling, escape and lever pivots with endstones. Signed white enamel dial with subsidiaries for power reserve and seconds, Roman numerals, and blue steel hands. Substantial case, engraved initials to the front cover. Gold cuvette with apertures for wind and set if the owner choose to use a key. Gold bow and gilt winding button. Maker’s mark JM in an oval. The winding disabled when the front cover is closed. Comes with a fitted Victor Kullberg presentation case lined with velvet and covered in red morocco.

A fine example of English watchmaking that could still be used today. This was manufactured by Kullberg appearing in his workbooks and bears typical features such as a reverse fusee and bridge cock. Victor Kullberg, from Sweden, set up business in England in 1956.
